DNV Certified for Offshore Use

Frictape helideck nets are the only material and design in the market with offshore type approvals for both helideck landing and perimeter safety nets. The certifications have been granted by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

The first certification dates back to 1992, when the intensive development of durable synthetic netting material was granted a DNV typeapproval (S-1127) for use as a helicopter landing net in offshore conditions. At the time, this was the first type approval certificate inthe world issued to an antiskid helicopter landing deck net.

Since then, Frictape helideck nettings have always met and exceeded the industry requirements. Both the material and structure of the nettings are constantly tested against the strictest standards, both existing and planned.

Frictape helideck products are developed not just to fulfil standards but to respond to real-life needs. The structure and strength of Frictape safety nettings are always well balanced. The nets keep their form and structure regardless of the weather conditions. 

This certificate was renewed in 2004 by Det Norske Veritas(S-4102) and again in 2009 (S-5894). As the only manufacturer Frictape can present a true type approval certificate from DNV to exceed the requirements of CAP437 and strictest UK Oil&Gas guidance on perimeter safety nets.
